Madonna Lookalike Evelyne Brink in Merida

Ok now the real lowdown. I am working at Classix FM
which is a super cool bar/restaurant playing the greatest hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. Very cool design, amazingly nice people running it and working in it. They provide special entertainment and hence flew me in from London to perform. I have 3 dancers and a personal assistant. My backstage area is brand new and got customised to my wishes. You will notice clothes hangers in the pictures, these were put up just for me. :-) Hence they get to stay in the picture. Alejandro is a musician and marketing man, he really knows his stuff when it comes to music and promotion and ideas and design and and and. Ricardo, his business partner is best known for the award winning family pizza business Messinas and is the business brain.
My first day consisted of press conference and rehearsals with the dancers with radio interview in the afternoon.

Alex had secured sponsoring deals i.e from Hotel Mision in which I stayed and which I will highly recommend especially for its friendly staff. Apart from clean rooms and pleasant surroundings of course. IF you ever travel to Merida, I am sure they will do a good job making you feel comfortable, too. Merida is great to see many intersting Mexican sights from. Mayan Ruins, cenotes, museums and enjoy a city that is used to tourism but not built on it.



I spoke Spanish and English at the conference. Of course I said some things wrong. I love it. I wanted to refer to Ricardo as the big cheese, so I called him the queso grande. He advised me that "pan grande" would be the correct translation. I found out later that queso in Mexico is used to refer to a woman's private part. So I just called the boss a big pussy!
One for the press. So just in case you wondered why I would be featured in the news.


More press conferences please! Sooo much fun. And hence very motivating to learn the languages. Apparently my spanish is very good. But please speak slowly and keep being that polite! If someone spoke English in London the way I speak Spanish, I don't think people would be as patient. But they really appreciated my efforts.


I also had autograph cards printed and got to sign them after the shows. They really did their thing well. It was something for the Brits to learn from. No offence, but WOW!

Madonna Lookalike Evelyne Brink in Mexico

I am so blessed. This month finds me on tour in Mexico and Honduras. First off Merida, Mexico. If you want to meet really nice people, eat great food and have an unforgettable time, Merida is your place. Be sure to go to classix fm, where the music plays and the night turns to day.
I am performing there 4 nights with my bailarins charissimos.

The owners are super nice. My backstage room is amazing.

I get the full star treatment from flowers to fruit basket, from personal assistant to autograph cards. Press conference, news, newspapers...Interviews, photo calls. Invites to family meals, hotel with swimming pool, sight seeing. THey are amaaaaazing here. Simply making this the time of my life. The audience is made up of happy people who like live show and hard chore Madonnna fans who travel the world to seet the Queen of Pop. To me that is the ultimate test. If they like me, I did a good job. But chances are a Madonna fan knows every difference between me and the Queen. I am thrilled to say I have been asked for autographs from these superfans and the showers of compliments feel like rain in the desert to me. Such a relief. Everytime...I must admit. It´s not the easiest job to impersonate Madonna. there are easier things to do. BUt it´s sooooooooo rewarding. Bringing madonna to the people so to speak. I know I am not Madonna. I just think I am.
We had pyrotechnics last night and they looked great and then nearly gassed us! we all ran out backstage to gasp for air. But I had to come back for my enchore...Hanky Panky in stinky stinky. The sound is great, the lights are great. I cannot praise this set up enough. I work wiht 3 different microphones. A wireless one, a retro one on stand and the iconic head set. How freaking cool is that...
My dancers are lovely and my personal assistant a star.

She is wonderful. We spend a lot of time together having fun and then she gets to run around and bring me things, find out stuff, drive me and spoil me rotten. I absolutely love it. This mornign I overslept as my alarm didn´t go off. She picked me up and we had to get me ready in no time. Lizzy gets the iron, irons my trousers and we make it. Lizzy takes me shopping and for tea. I don´t know how I lived without Lizzy before.

It´s great. Today she got to translate the parts I didn´t understand in the press interview. I speak spanish as much as I can. I absolutely love it and what I don´t understand, Lizzy gets to help. She is invaluable.


Ricardo and Alex own Classix FM, the coolest dig in town, they are the nicest people. Can everyone please learn from these guys?
Alex is a musician and such a pro. Things are being done right. We understand each other , even if we didn´t speak the language, we are on the same page. Nothing is a hassle. We like to create great shows so we do. He gets the lights, the mics, the effects, the sound...I do the performing. His word is gospel and he knows what he is talking about.
Ricardo owns other restaurants as well, he knows the business. He is an amazing leader. People forget the big gurus, learn from Ricardo. His family has 27 Messina restaurants between them, they have grown an empire and they work together. Name me anyone who can work with their brothers and sister and parents and be that successful and that nice and that relaxed. Incredible. wonderful.

I love spending time with these people. He got the entire staff up to meet me. that is how you show respect to everyone. We are a team, all of us. I love that. He treats people nicely. Everyone respects him for the right reasons. The pan grande is a good pan.
Everyone has a family here. It´s brilliant. I want one!!
So I had the children of the pueblo come to me and adopted them...

Madonna Lookalike Evelyne goes funny

I am so exited, as my Madonna life is taking its twist and turn into Comedy. Madonna Comedy, that's a new combination...It's wonderful to play straight tribute to the Queen of Pop of course. I love it and I respect it. This year is time to go over the Brink and unleash my own world. Hence I created a parody on Madonna-

Merry Christmas from Madonna Lookalike Evelyne Brink

A very merry Christmas to youuuuu
I hope this year was good for you. I had a lot of exitement and changes. I stopped the office job, went on national TV, became Uk's One and only Madonna, did shows around the globe.
Got confused about what to do next, started the inspiration experiment where I let myself be guided through inspiration. You can see it on www.inspirationexperiment.blogpsot.com.
From there I got inspired to work with Steve Trister on Edinburgh show THE GURU, which previewed at the Hippodrome and went to the Underbelly in Edinburgh. From there I decided to write my own show and started working on music parodies. You can hear them on www.myspace.com/madonabrink.

The project Mad-on-a Brink lead to write my plans for my own company...from there I am pulling together a fabolous team and started writing stand up comedy again.
Next year you can see Madonna-sor of live on stage in a comedy club near you, working the material, girl!!
I am looking for investment to create the full show and take it to Edinburgh in August. From there I would love to perform internationally i.e. Germany, US , you name it. The humour is international...
In the meantime I continue my life as Madonna-sort of, enjoying my Y-lister status at Celeb Bashes, the limosines, the drinks I don't usually have many of, the photos and the shows.
I am looking forward to a plethora of corporate bookings! ( Yes book Madonna Tribute Evelyne Brink now) as I cost only a fraction of the price of the real Madonna and I sing live. :-)
International corporate events are my main market as a Madonna tribute show can turn any event into a party in 3 minutes flat. People are dancing and singing along- there aren't many acts who bring together the generations as Madonna tribute.
Please forgive me if I mention my own name over and over, it's a Google thing. They cand find me better if I blow my own horn such as saying

Lucky I don't impersonate someone really humble. That would look awkward. But as a Madonna Lookalike, I guess I can afford to go over board. :-)

Madonna's divorce

I really hope Madonna and Guy can come to a peaceful settlement although I don't see "the easy way out" as a typical Madonna option. I guess she will stand her ground- unless the woman we see in the press is essentially different from the one behind the scenes.

I got upset reading the news, I suppose feeling quite close to Madge at times means I feel and empathise for her. I was so happy she had found love and a stable relationship, motherhood, a "normal " life...But she needs to feel free and be happy with it as well. My fear of course is- if she gets divorced, will I ever be able to be in longterm happy relationship?

And the answer came in form of my loving partner laying his arms around me saying: "babe, you are not her, so you can do what ever you want and I am here and I love you.
There is no point identifying with Madonna. You are only singing her songs, you are not living her life."

Spending a fair amount in her skin, it's good to take the time to reflect. So now I am being asked and interviewed about how I feel about this.
And here is what I would like to say:

I wish Madonna all the best for her new era. And Madge, if you read this and would like to pop round for a cup of tea, please make sure to let me know.
Madonna is a huge star with all the glory and glamour yet she is also a woman with a heart and this time can't be easy for her. Nor for Guy-though I don't feel as close to him.

I believe it's better to love and let go than to hold on in grief and anger. My parents separated when I was 5 years old and I know how painful it was but it was so much better than the arguments beforehand. The children whose parents stayed together "the the kids sake" suffered so much more. Divorce is never easy, relationships aren't always smooth sailing. Respect for making it through 7.5 years and giving it a good go. Being honest to yourself is the only way to be.

Madonna Lookalike Evelyne Brink's Recommended Photographer

There is so much choice when it comes to photographers these days and sometimes choosing a photographer is like a walk through the jungle. Everyone seems to offer everything, so who do you trust? How do you choose?
Word of moutch and personal recommendation is the best way to find the quality you are looking for. Today I would like to recommend Photographer Keith Hern who took a series of photos for me. Keith is a great photographer- I was particularly impressed with his travel imagery and picture composition. He has a really good eye for that. Plus, he is a genuinely nice man. Which is important because you need to feel comfortable in front of the camera. A dedicated family man with an inspiring story, you can trust that he is 100% professional, honest and good to work with.
